Software Engineer for Biolin (Lviv)

On behalf of Biolin Scientific, Ciklum is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Lviv team on a full-time basis.

Our Software Engineer will be developing the software for the products used by top universities and major companies globally.

Bilolin's precision instruments help develop better solutions for energy and materials, and offer world class know-how, committed to scientific excellence and continuous solution development, based on nanotechnology and advanced measurement techniques. It offers precision contact angle meters and tensiometers to measure surface roughness, wettability, surface free energy, contact angle, and interfacial rheology; and analyze superhydrophobic surfaces, polymers, coatings, surfactants, devices, nanocomposite materials, etc.

Biolin develops advanced scientific analysis software that enables the users of these measurement instruments to transform their measurement data into the answers they are looking for. Biolin's scientific laboratory instruments produce many gigabytes of measurement data in a day's use, so a high degree of automation and processing efficiency is necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Development of Windows desktop application software managing the instruments and presenting data from measurements;
• Building the software tools to analyze data in a Windows environment;
• Working within instruments that help develop better solutions for energy and materials, as well as perform research at the frontiers of science and technology;
• Providing high quality B2B product and making technology easily accessible and attractive to customers.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of work experience in software development;
• MSc in Physics, Applied Maths, Electrical engineering, Computer science or equivalent with a strong mathematical interest;
• Excellent knowledge of any object-oriented language: Python or Java or C++;
• Willingness to learn new programming languages and tools;
• Willingness to learn and work on old code bases, as well as create new ones;
• Ability and willingness to work both independently as well as part of a team;
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Desirable:

• Experience with C/C++;
• Good skills in developing SW for Windows OS and experience in different programming languages and -tools;
• Experience in Scrum process and continuous integration;
• Experience and a genuine interest in signal processing, image processing, scientific computing and numerical analysis;
• Experience in electronics and embedded software development;
• Knowledge of modular design and integration into the overall system architecture.
