Senior Category Buyer (Technical)

Key Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for category strategy development and delivering strategic commercial agreements in the Indirect Technical Category of  Capital, CAPEX, MRO & Spare Parts, Logistics, Trade furniture & IT, Direct materials;
• Support category buyers in applying global standard processes, offering advice and guidance as necessary;
• Responsible for ensuring early procurement engagement in significant spend areas to maximise procurement's impact;
• Develop deep category, product and supplier knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the categories managed;
• Ensure contingency planning is in place for all key suppliers / services within categories owned;
• Manage relationships and performance of key strategic suppliers;
• Undertake adequate analysis and planning to enable effective supplier negotiations which deliver a world class cost base;
• Responsible for tracking category benefits and finalizing savings;
• Planning, coordination and realization of procurement projects to drive continuous improvement within the procurement function.
• Develop relationships and continually work with key stakeholders ensuring that commercial delivery and internal service are equally balanced

  Key Requirements: 

• Higher education (University degree preferably with a numerical basis);
• Minimum 2-3 years Category Leadership in FMCG company on a managerial level;
• Fluent oral and written English;
• Confident user of Microsoft Excel ,Word and Power Point;
• SAP, Oracle or other ERP experience preferred;
• Excellent negotiation and leadership skills are essential;
• Excellent people management skills;
• Good analytical and creative problem solving skills;
• Excellent organizational/ communication skills (both internally and externally);
• Team player, self-driven, taking initiative, flexible and enthusiastic.
