Communication Manager

The British International School, Ukraine

    The British International School Ukraine is seeking a Communication Manager.

    Job Purpose: The Communications Manager is key role at conveying and promoting the school’s mission, vision and brand stories internally and externally, thus generating positive word-of-moth, building a loyal parent, student and teacher base and conquering the hearts & minds of our potential customers.  You will work closely with senior leadership team to shape a school’s image and values, as well as define the appropriate methods to communicate them to the public.  

     Key Responsibilities: 

    Brand building  

    • Be the brand champion advocating for the brand inside the company and outside 

    • Continuously convey brand’s mission, vision and values in different touchpoints  

    • Revitalise the brand by being close to the consumers and key trends  

    • Continuously improve our brand guidelines and guarantee its implementation  

     Digital and offline communication 

    • Align our messaging on website, Social Media, marketing materials and internal communication with key business challenges and consumer insights 

    • Come up with creative communication campaigns to tackle key business challenges; define the most effective channels and analyse the results of campaigns 

    • Write website pages, articles, emails, Social Media posts and other materials about school;  

    • Work with faculty the Head of Schools and Directors to communicate key messages to parents and students. 

    • Work with designers on brochures, posters and Social Media assets   


    • Prepare media and PR plans, build direct relationship with key media and partners; 

    • Become our PR spokesperson representing the company to the PR community 

    • Analyse the results and evaluate ROI 


    • Organize offline and online events to attract new and retain existing customers. 

    • Define external events where BISU can participate and promote or find new partners;  

    Key requirements: 

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, copywriting, brand or PR 

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, PR 

    • Proficiency in Ukrainian and English  

    • Copywriting and editing skills in Ukrainian and English for website, email, Social media and PR 

    • Outstanding creativity and strong communication skills  

    • Previous experience building a brand is highly desirable  

    • Ability to work effectively with agencies and freelancers 

    • Excellent time management and organisation as well as project management skills 

    • Positive outlook and can-do attitude 

    • Both agency and in-house experience is highly welcome
