Audit / Accountant Professional (part-time, Kyiv)

At present, GIZ in Ukraine operates on behalf of four German Federal Ministries. Additionally, we work for the European Union (EU) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). Together with our partners, we are promoting EU approximation and the reform process in Ukraine. 

The current priorities of German-Ukrainian cooperation are: good governance, energy efficiency and climate and sustainable economic development. Cooperation work outside these priority areas includes the effective long-term management of the situation in the east of the country, which focuses on strengthening the capacities of local communities hosting internally displaced people.

Key responsibilities include inter alia:

• Financial management and advisory services for GIZ Projects in Ukraine.
• Accounting for GIZ projects Country Office using the accounting software WINPACCS and ensuring compliance with the GIZ rules in project management.
• Accounting (software WINPACCS) personal related costs (salaries, taxes, insurance costs etc.) work with high confidential data.
• Conducting internal controls/audits of GIZ Projects in Ukraine.
• Planning and monitoring of internal controls schedule.
• Annual analyzing of audit findings.
• Ensuring good communication and flow of information within the GIZ HQ, country office and with the projects.
• Conducting of trainings and presentation for internal GIZ auditors.
• Verification of invoices in accordance with internal rules and procedures.
• Effectively coordinating with the staff of the finance team in Country office or the relevant department at GIZ Head Office.
• Support in preparing reports from SAP.

Qualification requirements:

• University degree in accounting or similar degree.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar position.
• Grounded knowledge of Ukrainian personnel legislation, payroll would be a benefit.
• Experience of work in GIZ finance would be a benefit.
• Certified auditor.
• Excellent command of German and/or English.
• Profound knowledge of IT-based accounting programs.
• Good practical knowledge of information and communication technologies as well as PC applications and SAP.
• Confidential treatment of data and information.
• Reliability, flexibility and stress resistance, high loyalty, high self-discipline, team player.

Assignment

Part-time position with 20 hours working week until the end of 2022, with the possibility of prolongation.
