VFX Artist

About the role

At PlayMe Studio we create casual games. We are looking for VFX Artist to work closely with artists and developers. Your responsibilities include maintaining the workflow of art production, creating VFX, adding animation to game mechanics, UI and character, and implementing them for our mobile projects.

At PlayMe Studio, VFX Artist are critical in developing visual features and driving the look of the game, a bridge between the artists and developers, ensuring the art content and features are easily integrated into the game, while respecting the artistic vision and technical constraints of the project.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with Unity engine:

• Navigation through the project

• Create particle system

• Set up Animator

• Create UI layout

• Have strong experience in Adobe Photoshop

• Solid understanding of animation principles with a good sense of timing

• Experience crafting impressive, stylized real-time VFX assets

• Experience in creating character animation:

  • Creating optimised geometry

  • Rigging

  • Weights setup

  • Smooth animation

• Ability to work with technical documentation

• Ability work with deadlines

Would be a plus

• Portfolio with examples of works

• Experience with After Effects and 3D software (Cinema 4D, 3ds Max)

• Ability to develop shader graphs in Unity

• Experience with game editors and other game engines

Responsibilities

• Create effects and animations that support studios project in a timely manner

• Work under supervising, understand the requirements, make research, create and implement solutions in the engine

• Create description for devs task with problem formulation and suggestion how to resolve it 

• Port the assets to the Unity engine according to all technical specifics, and keep an eye on the performance and set standards for workflow through the production pipeline and technical specifics

• Edit and create asset to supply animation needs

• Handle all aspects of the animation production pipeline, from concept to final implementation

• Ensure that the art and devs departments have the tools they need to do their jobs properly, explain and write clear reports

• Spot potential problems, find solutions to art related bugs, troubleshoot when assets don't quite work, or the tools fail.
