Provectus IT is the US-based company which provides software development and R&D services to North American and European ISV clients.
Responsibilities- Develop server-side components and services for a cutting-edge Ruby-on-Rails SmartGrid server application
Requirements
- In-depth and thorough knowledge of the following:
o Application development in Ruby-on-Rails (RoR)
o Rails ActiveRecord advanced concepts (e.g. polymorphic association)
o Ruby background job frameworks (e.g. Resque, delayed_job)
o Server-side caching ( e.g. memcached )
o Web services in Ruby (both SOAP and REST)
o Strong SQL skills (MySQL)
- Ability to work in a small highly dynamic team using agile development methodologies ( e.g. test-driven-development, continuous-integration, sprints)
- Ability to navigate the command-line in a Linux environment
- Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
- Good English conversational skills as we collaborate over Skype voice chat.
Bonus Points
- Exposure to multiple programming languages e.g. Java, C++, Python
- Experience with cloud technologies
- Experience with horizontally scaling web applications (e.g. one that can handle > 100K users)
