Background

A complex Software Program is under way to replace the existing legacy commodity trading systems that support Trafigura's Oil, Metals and Concentrate business. Existing business is managed on a number of systems, at present a mix of in-house and third party applications. The goal is to consolidate onto a single in-house platform using distributed business components architecture.

We are seeking the experienced Project Manager to perform full cycle of project management activities to ensure timely delivery of business solutions across several offshore development streams. As a Project Manager you will have the opportunity to work with highly-professional and skilled resources to deliver complex projects through use of proven methodologies and techniques.

Typical Key Responsibilities

• To manage the delivery of software projects on time, on budget & to required quality level
• To inspire team members to make things happen, to lead by example
• To define project scope with Business Analysts. To facilitate technical, operational and/or business requirements
• To perform project planning (facilitate development iterations planning, make sure team is happy and committed to the iterations scope, make plans updates upon change requests)
• To track project progress on daily basis - drive daily Stand-Up meetings, produce project reports
• To track project issues and risks pro-actively, actively work on projects impediments resolving
• To assure the project team follows best practices throughout SDLC;
• To assure the project team produces work packages of expected quality and usability
• To assure that all project requirements (functional and non-functional) are met, escalating any deviations where necessary
• To manage relationships and coordinate work of several project streams
• To liaise with onsite Project Managers, Business Analysts and business users in order to recognize, record and prioritize work requirements
• To constantly improve project processes to exceed client expectations
• To represent the project team in clients meetings

Minimum Experience/Knowledge/Skills (Competencies)

Essential:

• 5+ years of proven software project management experience
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to solve problems
• Ability to effectively manage/lead/inspire project teams
• Experience of managing several software project teams in parallel
• Personal time management and ability to work to deadlines
• Result-oriented professional
• Relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree with strong academic results

Desirable:

• Previous software development experience, preferably .NET or Java/J2EE technologies stack
• Ability to engage with the client in technology discussions
